What is Accounting Information System?
Accounting information system is a system of records, usually computer based, which combines accounting principles and concepts with the benefits of an information system and which is used to analyze and record business transactions for the purpose to prepare financial statements and provide accounting data to its users. Some accounting information systems are still manual, i.e. accounting records are made with a pen, paper and manual entries into accounting books.
How are Such Systems Used?
These systems can be customized to meet the needs of a business. For example, information technology professionals responsible for business processes and information technology professionals responsible for the accounting information system can work together to develop and implement such a system so that it automatically gets information from other sources already in use by the business. Also, the systems can be set up to feature certain functions that are important to the business and eliminate functions minor to the business.
Astrology – A Science?
Astrology is thriving from times immemorial, playing on the hopes and anxiety of mankind to know about tomorrow. Based on the planetory positions and their reported influences of the human beings, this pseudo-science has been taking the mankind for a ride all these years. People practising this weird art, have been claiming that this is a science. The astrologists predict our future and tell us about our past. They practise the art of reading a man’s mind in distress and make predictions that would definitely soothe his anxious feelings. It is a moot point whether their predictions come true. But for the mind that is seeking refuge in small things of comfort, these forecasts and prophecies come as a drink of cold water in a desert.
Astrolgers and astrology have been part and parcel of the ancient kingdoms. Touted as a science , people flocked in large numbers to listen to oracles and soothsayers. The fear of the unknown pushed many people to spend money on consulting these self-styled pundits. In reality , this occult science has no real scientific basis. They do calculate the ephemeral and other astronomic numbers but any resemblance to science stops there. The zodiac is divided into twelve signs, known as Sun Signs. There are specific personal characteristics and traits for persons born under each Zodiac Sign. In India, they have what is known as Moon Signs. These are based on a group of two and a half stars in 12 signs. (There are 27 birth stars). Each star , like the zodiacal sign, attributes special characteristics and traits for persons born under it. Based on the planetory position at birth and the planetory periods of the particular person at present, predictions are made. The predicitons are mostly highly generalised and broad. Seldom specific forecasts are made.
Astronomical science has progressed far from the days of the ancient kingdom. Man has landed on the Moon and has already successfully landed unmanned probes in other planets. Extreme temperature conditions and lack of oxygen make these planets devoid of any signs of life. How these planets can be said to be influencing the day to day lives of the people on earth? Destiny, Astrology all these things belittle the human endeavour and his spirit for adventure. If everything has been decided in advance and if everything could be foretold, then why do mankind still engage in a mad race for material wealth?
Sandboarding Information
Sandboarding was developed out of necessity. In some parts of the world, snow is not an option and those who wanted to be able to snowboard came up with the idea of sandboarding on large sand dunes that are located in the desert. To this day, sandboarding is still a sport even though you don’t hear of it much and there isn’t much likelihood that it will become any more popular. The participants have to walk back up the hills or take four wheel drives because building lifts in that type of environment really isn’t feasible.
There are great athletes associated with sandboarding, just as there are with many other sports. Erik Johnson holds the world’s record for the fastest speed on a sandboard and he is also a popular snowboarder and has a skateboarding background. You can see now how all of these sports are somewhat related and if you are good at one, more than likely you can master the skills that are required for the other.
Sandboards are basically like snowboards in that they have similar bindings that strap your feet to the sandboard. Actually a sandboard’s bindings are just Velcro straps secured with Allen Key bolts that help to secure your feet to the board. They are constructed basically on the same designs of a snowboard, but they have to be waxed before each run because once you have finished, the bottom of your board looks like someone has taken fine grained sandpaper to it. Technology has improved, which has helped the construction of the sandboards, but with the sport still taking a backseat to other board sports, there are not very many developments in the technology like there are with the development of finely tuned snowboards.
Sandboards are constructed of plywood with base materials that can withstand the raw elements in which they are used. With glossy finishes, bright colors and funky graphics, a sandboard can be a piece of art, just like a snowboard.
If you live in an area that is basically desert and you don’t have the snow that is required for snowboarding, then sandboarding is a very likely option for you. Natural sand dunes provide the level of fun that you are looking for. There are no parks or rails or half pipes at the current time for sandboarders to develop and play with their tricks and stunts; however, you can still pull off the flat ground tricks, just like the snowboarders do.
There are sandboard manufacturers that offer the latest designs in the industry and you can locate them across the internet. Most of your companies will be from other parts of the world and not necessarily from North America as we do not have the type of sand dunes that Peru and other countries have that make this sport extremely popular in those parts of the world. You can contact them via the internet to find out more information about the sport and the necessary equipment.
